Did you know that according to Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE), every three minutes someone experiences an allergic reaction to some food and often ends up in the emergency room? No. Well, you probably didn’t know that science has found more ways to help your children avoid their allergies and intolerances by exposing them to an early age. Apparently, in a review published in the Journal of the American Medical Association, a study found that introducing eggs or peanuts to a baby’s diet after four months of age can lower the child’s risk of developing an egg or peanut allergy. Food allergies are on the rise, so make sure you’re aware of your surroundings.
Early exposure
Food allergies can cause problem ranging from eczema to life-threatening allergic reactions. There are some common triggers of food allergies which include peanuts, cow’s milk, egg, soy, wheat, and fish! Infants with a sibling or at least one member of their family who suffers from allergies will likely also experience an allergy. It is important to note that recent studies have indicated that there are no significant benefits to allergy prevention by avoiding allergens whilst you are pregnant.
Good ways to prevent allergies
Hoover up your dust mites. This will help some people (not always) to prevent environmental allergies and also asthma. Reduce contact with these substances early in your life which may delay or prevent allergy symptoms.
Wash your pets. You don’t even have to have an allergy to pets to experience allergy symptoms. So, no matter how clean your pets are, they could still quickly run outside and bring a mountain of pollen or any other environmental factors that could cause issues.
Food allergies testing for you
Allergy testing is perfect for you if are struggling from allergy or intolerance symptoms like nausea, bloating, headaches or skin rashes. If you are not sure what foods or environmental factors are causing these allergy symptoms then an allergy test would be ideal. Think about this way, if you are struggling with symptoms and you don’t know why then an exclusion diet or simple avoidance of pollen and other plants will see you feeling brighter and happier.
