Several things are believed to be a cause of ‘Brain Fog’;
Depression
Depression is believed to be the most common cause of brain fog, but what causes depression. This is incredibly difficult to define as stress is very much an individual experience, personal to whoever is experiencing it. Lack Of Quality Sleep
